Is it wrong for my wife and I NOT to tell people that her huge engagement is not a real diamond?

My wife and I got married really young (19). We couldn’t afford a ceremony, so we went to the justice of the peace and I got her a simple, plain gold wedding band.

Now, we’re almost 27 and planning to get remarried in a real ceremony. I was going to buy her a real diamond, but she heard about moissanite diamonds and thought they were beautiful.

She was like, “Why buy me a tiny real diamond for a lot of money when you could buy me a big Moissanite for half the price?”

So I bought her a $800 1Ct Moissanite.

People keep complimenting her on it saying its’ so sparkly, big and beautiful and my boys are giving me huge props. They’re all like, “Man you’re making us look bad.”

Hey, it’s like the old advertizements for Clariol hair color…only her hairdresser knows for sure…..

do you go around announcing that you dye your hair or bleach your teeth…or do a brazillian wax….or have had moles removed, a tummy tuck….boob job…..etc.

It’s personal info and no body’s business.

If asked ‘Is it real?’ say “Of course it’s real” (real moissanite) let ‘em think what they want….and I’ve seen those moissanites and they do give diamonds a run for the money….beautiful stones and you both are happy & that’s all that matters-good luck!

Edit: anyone asking if it is real is being rude whether they realise it or not…that type of question is impolite and they deserve any kind of reply……would you ask someone f their teeth are real or dentures..if their hair is real or a rug/implants…if their boobs are real….etc. Just because a question is asked does NOT mean the person is entitiled to an answer…honestly people don’t know boundaries anymore which is why this society has become so in your face rude….
