what should I wear to this wedding?
My boyfriend’s daughter is getting married on Labor Day weekend. I’m not the step-mom, per se, so should I wear something less elaborate than most mother-of-the-bride outfits? Also, what length dress should I wear? It’s a noon-five pm wedding and reception. I have a cream-colored ankle-length dress and jacket already, so it would be nice to not have to buy something new, but am not sure if long is the proper length for my ‘role’ and the time of day. It’s a formal wedding, but should only the bridal party wear long dresses?
will the girls mother be there? if so you should dress as any other guest would. i think it’s a bad idea to wear a cream colored dress to a wedding, you should go buy a new dress knee length in a color other than black or white and make sure you don’t match the wedding colors.
if the girls mother will not be there ask if she would like you to step into that role, you know your relationship so you can tell if this would go over well. but in that case the dress you have will be fine.
